Senior.
Yes, my mom cried. No, I didn't. I did stay up late the night before because I couldn't sleep, I was too excited. Everything that has happened so far this year has been bittersweet. These past few months have already been full of a lot of "lasts". Last first day, last Austin v. Decatur game, last rush, last homecoming, last pep rally, last football game, last pancake breakfast, and last powder puff tournament (Class of 2011, back to back champs, BTW !) . My goal this year is to just have fun and to make it the best, even if mom complains that I'm not home enough anymore. I've settled friendships that were rocky and created MANY new ones, and I love the people in my life right now. Some days I'm so ready to graduate, some I'm not. But after visiting USA this weekend, I'm more excited about college.
A couple weeks ago, my 9 year old sister and I were jokingly yelling smart comments back and forth to each other, and she pulled the " I....just wish you would go to college !" card. It kind of hurt me a little, although we were joking, that she thought of that. It made me realize that I wont be seeing her or anyone in my family everyday anymore. Its a weird feeling hearing my sisters fight about who is getting my room, or who's room I'm going to stay in when I come home for holidays. I have a feeling that the first few months I'm gone, I will be having weekly "Skype dates" with them. As much as we argue, I know I'm going to miss them.
It's feels crazy to say that senior year is almost halfway over, but it has been great so far. One thing I'm sure of is that I love my classmates, and the fact that we are like one big family, its amazing.

Back 2 Back !

It's been a while...

For my birthday, we grilled out at the campground and I had a few people come and eat. After we headed over to the Luau at Point Mallard, then just chilled at the campground. We all had a lot of fun just being crazy, which I'm pretty sure swinging around the flag pole by the Miss Point Mallard stage is illegal...oh well.

Like normal, when summer comes you see some people more than others. To catch up and manage to forget boys for just one night, and we had a girl's night at Allie's Nana's house. Its always fun to just be with the girls, and just be crazy. We ate pizza, swam, talked, and just had a good time. For some reason at one point in the night, Brittany went out to Tori's car to get something, and realized that the doors were Saran wrapped shut, and she sprinted into the house screaming " SOMEONE VANDALIZED OUR CARS ! " , we all just looked at her like she was crazy, but then we realized what she said. Haha. We are all convinced on who it is, and he knows who he is. My favorite part was probably just sitting around, talking and giving each other advice and making fun of ourselves and just being stupid. I had a lot of fun catching up with my girls (:

Since we have such a busy summer schedule, my parents thought that taking a big trip would be hard to do, so they decided to borrow my aunts camper and camp out at Point Mallard for about a month. It was nice to have, and I don't think there has been a day where I haven't been out there. Out of the many nights I stayed out there, there was never a dull one. Especially 4th of July weekend. I was really thankful for the camper when I heard how hard it was to find a parking place. Is it just me, or do the fireworks get worse every year? It lasted for a grand total of 15 minutes this year. I just remember them lasting longer in the past but, I love fireworks, so I enjoyed it.

Like last year, I am playing on the Dixie Debs All-Star team. We beat Underwood in the District Tournament again this year, and we are state bound on Friday. To raise money for state, we sold Krispy Kreme donuts. I spent the night with Allie the night before, we pulled an all-nighter ( fun, but NOT smart ), and got up at about 4 in the morning to set up on the side of the road and sold the donuts. We sold as much as we could, then we drove all around Decatur to sell the rest. Took until about 3 P.M. ( for me, this was 29 hours of no sleep ). I'm pretty sure I was ill, and probably gave too much of an attitude to some people, which if that was you, I'm sorry. In the end we raised a lot of money, and it was all worth it.
I spent the weekend with my best friend, and we had soooo much fun. Like always, of course! I can't even tell you the amount of times we finished each other's sentences, or said the same thing, or did the same thing at the same time etc..this weekend, it creeps us out sometimes. She always been there for me, and always will be. I have no idea what I'd do without her, she always knows what will make me feel better. Things as little as sending me a picture of Patrick Dempsey to make me smile when I'm having a bad day, haha. She is a big part of who I am today, and everytime we're together I'm reminded why she is my best friend (:
That is just a small part of how summer has gone so far, but it would take forever to put all the great moments. Its gone by so fast, and I'm not ready for it to be over. I take my senior portraits in a couple weeks, I think it will hit me then that this is really my last year of high school. It's bittersweet, and I'm looking forward to enjoying every minute of it.

Lessons Learned
1. People change, and others don't.
2. Be careful who you trust.
3. There is a huge difference between friend & true friend.
I am the kind of person that trusts someone until they give me a reason not to, and I usually give 2nd chances and sometimes more, even if it's not deserved. But, my true friends are always there to help me when things go wrong, and I love them for that. I'd do anything for my true friends, no matter what. Actually, I'd do anything for most people, that's just the way I am. Unfortunately, people take advantage of it. Friendship is about giving, not taking, but sometimes one of the people take & take, but never give. Then the friendship just falls apart. I wish things like this wouldn't happen, but my mom always tells me " It's sad, but it even happens to adults. " True friends will do anything without even caring what is in it for them, or how its going to effect them. But enough about that.
Today is Mother's Day & for the past couple years I have given my mom those paper flowers that we make in Spanish. This year I decorated a pot to put them in so it's a little different. But I'm sure she is getting tired of seeing those flowers every year. Haha, but lucky for her I'm not taking Spanish next year, so I'll have to be real creative. My sister, Julia, and I also made her a cake, but not just any cake, a hot pink cake.

" If God brings you to it, He'll bring you through it. "

Best friends

This is a picture of Katelyn and I when we were three. We took this picture in the back yard of my old house, one summer day. This is our 'signature' picture along with another where we are turned backwards with our arms around each other. We attempted to reenact this picture this past summer, and it turned out like this.

We tried ! Haha, anyway, I know that she will be here for me forever, and she would never do anything to hurt me! I love you BFF :D

" Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened. "
As most of you know I play softball, and have for the past 9 1/2 years of my life. I love it, and that is why I play, not to get scholarships, although if given the opportunity to go to school and play softball on a scholarship, I will greatly take it, but generally I play because it makes me happy. I have been on the team at school since my freshman year and I have loved it, but this past year has been the greatest. I feel that the team meshed very well and we were very strong in all aspects of the game. We worked very hard all year to be the best we could possibly be. We had happy moments and sad moments, and we stayed a team through it all. This past week was our last time together in uniform for this season. We practiced very hard Monday - Wednesday, and on Thursday we headed to Sparkman to play in the Area Tournament.
As I sat in 1st and 2nd period on Thursday, the clock seemed to tick slower and slower with each passing minute. Finally I couldn't take it anymore, and Lauren Williams and I headed out of Mrs. Richey's room, while Mr.Stiener (her sub) was pretending to cry because we were leaving. We went and got dressed, and met the rest of the team on the sidewalk of the J parking lot to wait on the bus. We joked and talked about fun times until the bus arrived. We all piled on the bus and chose our seats, and began our trek to Sparkman. But before we left Decatur, we made a stop at Chik-Fil-A. I swear, this team is more serious about food than anything ! Before the bus could even get stopped everyone was piling out of the bus, including opening the emergency exit in the back. We got our food and got back on the bus, and continued unfinished conversations. As we got closer and closer to the school, our adrenaline levels started to rise quickly. Everyone was pumped and ready to play, I don't think we had ever been more ready the whole season. We got off the bus and applied our eye-black and got down to business. We played Bob Jones first, and beat them, which was AMAZING. After that we had a one-game break, and then we played Sparkman. We got beat 9-8, which is the closest we have come to beating them this year, but we were still in good spirits. We had a lengthy break and decided to go to the Madison Square Mall to eat dinner and kill time before the game. After eating ( the table was filled with a variety of food, including Chinese, "Mexican" which was really mashed potatoes and mac-n-cheese, Subway, etc. ) we went to the arcade. Along with food, our team is very competitive when it comes to games. Dance-Dance Revolution was a popular choice, although frustration arose in those who were rhythmically-challenged. Along with that was Air Hockey ( or as Kayla called it 'Ice Hockey' ). I would upload the beyond hilarious video of Ashton playing Dance-Dance Revolution & Sherika and Coach Crump playing Air Hockey, but my phone is not cooperating. We love to have fun, and this includes many Sing-a-longs on the bus, which are so funny and happen quite frequently. When we got back to Sparkman, we warmed up, which usually leads to playing some kind of game or pretending to be a pitcher or dancing, you get the picture. Going into the last game we had numerous peptalks and random dancing ( we tend to do this a lot ). We were pumped nonetheless. We fought the whole game and never gave up, but we were shy 1 run from extra innings. With the last out came the waterworks, people who you rarely see cry were bawling. The coaches said their words of encouragement and how proud they were. Then they gave the floor to the seniors who were struggling to get out sentences through the tears, but they said things that made us laugh, cry even more, and things that encouraged us. They have been a big part of our success this season through their leadership and actions. It will not be the same without them next year, and they will be missed so much. This season has been memorable, and the end was not the one we wanted, but we did get a lot accomplished this season. We had a winning season, we won a tournament in Tennessee, where we beat #22 in the nation, Beech, we beat Bob Jones, and came so close to beating Sparkman. There are so many more things that were accomplished, those are just a few. I had a great time this season, we worked hard and our hard work payed off. I am so excited for next year, and hope to be taking a trip to Montgomery for the State Tournament !
